Trying to figure out why I cant load a video into my instructable? Answered

Do i have to publish my video first, like on youtube or something? nothing iv tried so far seems to work.

oooooh, the bain of my existence, you may have issues when you using firefox, but there are work arounds.
1st. Upload your video to youtube
2nd. Below your video, click on the embed icon, a highlighted text box will open. Right-click your mouse and select copy
3rd. Open your instructable in edit mode, scroll down to where you want your video to be, then press the "source" button.
4th. Right-click the mouse and press paste, click the "source" button again and hit save.
5th Your done! I use this method when the embed function in instructables is giving me grief. It is more work, but is simple and bullet proof.

You post your video first on You tube or other video hosting site. Once it is posted it should give you the code for embedding it. Copy the code and click on the add video icon in the edit mode of your instructable and past the code. This should give you an embedded video.

An alternative is to upload the video as you would a regular image, it won't appear embedded and people will have to click on it and it will open up on another page.
