Two wireless routers + two wired (not wifi enabled) phones = personal wireless telephone service? Answered

Is it possible to take two wireless routers, the somehow connect two telephones and then create you own personal wireless telephone service?

I think not. However what sort of telephone "service" do you want/need?

Just between 2 handsets with the ability to ring one or the other?

could it be wired?

Thanks Rick,

I am not talking about a fully integrated telephone service. Just a private wireless telephone service between two houses. Obviously there walkie talkies and such already exist. It would be fun would be to integrate two different technologies into a new device/system.

Not really... no. What you might want to look into like thematthatter said is a VoIP system... you can configure those to work on a local only network...

Telephones use a completely different jack, they only use 2 wires and i think operate on higher voltage than network cables

Now.. if you got some voip phones then you might be able to do something with that.
