Reading resistors Answered

I was just wondering if there is some kind of marking on a resistor that tells you which direction you should read it. I've seen brown bands on the ends of some resistors but not always, so I was just wondering if someone could help me out. Thanks Zealous

In case you haven't figured it out yet. The tolerance band is usually silver or gold and is always at the end of the code, so you should start reading from the opposite end. Hope this helps.

If you have a ipod touch / phone, they have a app called iResist (free) that lets u search for resistors by ohms, and enter color codes. :)
