Venue dropping
Killerjackolope happened to drop this phrase into an otherwise unrelated thread:
Oh by the way I'm going to be speaking in westminster abbey...
Aside from the lack of capitalisation, we must ask ourselves... why? and to whom?
Do tell, KJL...

Yes I do, I was dissapointed at the video not going, I enjoy your little RR references... Yeah you're the one that scare them all, I bet your mouse has a mohawk and your keyboard has metal spike studs on it... Would a switchblade in the disc drawer be too much for that setup?

I enjoy your little RR references...
Still most of the time I am more like "Droopy" the dog. :-)

Indeed, but not shaken.....*groan*
Reply 12 years ago
I avoided shaken as I guessed you'd have been shaken the odd time, stirred I'd rather not hear the details...

My head has what could be described as a reverse mohawk (bald down the middle and hairy on the sides LOL) Switchblade ? Nah, I have a little toad-sticker I carry with me all the time....but that is such a handy tool I would feel naked without it (when I went to Jury duty I forgot to take it out of my pocket and I had to hand it over for the duration :-)
Reply 12 years ago
Yeah done that before, I have a lockknife that happens to be very handy, the blade is thick enough to pry, part of the handle is perfect for opening bottles and It has a sharply ridged section that works as a file instead of a blade grip. Thankfully I got my utili-key from pocket sized and that makes a nice replacement...

Well, I suppose they didn't want me killing any toads.....because it would take a lot of effort to hurt someone very badly with my little Barlow Pocket knife :-) even if I was predisposed to try such a thing (which I am not )
Reply 12 years ago
I remember someone attacking me randomly and I went to use my lighter as a weapon and grabbed the knife from my pocket (closed) and did the equivalent to a dry stab, things can hurt people in ways you don't expect, I hadn't considered the extra weight and metal behind the punch, leading to them being rather knocked over, thankfully it was enough to make them leave me alone... Oddly I'm not predisposed towards fighting but when it happens... Also in that case it was a choice of taking a severe beating and losing all my belongings or taking a swing...

I have a great fear of hurting others. I was held back a year early in school because I was unmotivated by school and didn't do the "work" but I could pass the tests. That was the 2nd grade. So, being I was already 1/2 older then many of the kids, this extra year put me a bit further ahead. All too ofter I "didn't know my own strength" with things. So I developed a tremendous fear of doing someone great harm; and since then, I have always been able to remove myself from any "fight" situations. The closest thing to a fight I have ever been in was sparring with my isshinryu instructer. But I only took that for balance and poise. Um, I have rambled again...sorry.
Reply 12 years ago
But an interesting ramble... Hard to reply to though...

I understand....

You know sometimes, I wonder just how sane you are... Then I remember you're talking sense...
Reply 12 years ago
Well, let's just say then that I can relate ( to the Linderman character, in an odd kind of way) to the movie: "My Bodyguard" :-)

Actually you could hold something outdoors probably, granted the scholarly types wouldn't be happy...
