Want to build a useless box but can't find the gear motor... Solarbotics is sold out and can't find it on makers shed... any advise ?

You can use any servo of suitable size. But you have to do some rewiring. The specified one is just a servo wired directly to the motor.

Ebay seems to have quite few, at reasonable prices.
