Warning to anyone who does explossives Answered

As a former pyrotechnician, I fell like I must war people how dangerouse this shit is. Black powder is a high explosive and can be detonated with a slight impact of a feather. Flash powder is EXTREMELY DANGEROUSE, IT CAN BE DETONATED WITH OUT SPECIFIC REASONS. AMMOUNIUM NITRATE Is also another highly unstable high explosive, it can be set of even if you drop it. Gasoline is a high EXPLOSIVE, it just takes a spark to detonate. That why they are use in cars! DON"T LISTEN WHAT THESE OTHER PEOPLE SAY ABOUT GAS NOT BEING AN EXPLOSIVE, IT REALLY IS AN HIGH EXPLOSIVE, I know this because I'm an pyrotecnic. Molotov cocktails are often used in the army, they canblow up holw rooms, and if the fire on the rage hits the inside of the jar youre dead. Sparklers are another high explosive, thats why they are illigal, they can detonate and blow your whole arm off. M-80 can blow up for no specific reason, the gun powder(AKA BLACK POWDER) is extremely unstable. Match heads are also as unstable as gunpowder, it can even ignite under it's own weight. Nitrogen triiodide is also unstable. Thermite can detonate with a powerful heat and force but it can only be detonated with magnesium. Pottasium nitrate can even blow up if you just leave it there. SO, DO NOT BE DOING THESE FIREWORKS!

Do you think flaming is the appropriate response? Point out where he's wrong, and if he won't admit his errors (we can all see that he's as much a pyrotechnician as I am a Vietnamese gynaecologist), then flag his posts, PM the management if you must, but if you add nothing to his threads then they will quickly slide down the lists into obscurity.

"light the blue touch paper and stick it up your nose....." as for the match heads igniting under their own weight, i hit one with a big hammmer for 5 minutes and only succeeded in mashing it. sparklers are fun, 'specially on bonfire night. on that topic, bonfire night is a time of celebration, and isn't usually punctuated with the frantic screams of suddenly combusting children. (touch wood) let's see, how else can i prove this guy an idiot. AH, back on the topic of bonfire night, did enyone watch the programme n which Richard Hammond blew up a replica of the houses of parliament, to see what would have happened? They found the top of king james's skull and a few rashers of sir francis bacon, but that was with a whole metric tonne of black powder all going up at once, sealed in barrels. If it'd just been in a pile, it would only have burned. Burned fiercely, but still not an explosion. Thermite doesn't detonate. it's not an explosive. learn basic chemistry. furthermore, you can IGNITE thyermite with a mixture of potassium permanganate and glycerol (i think it's glycerol. maybe glycerine). molotov cocktails don't burn, the point is that the glass cracks and the burning rag touches the fuel, causing an instant conflagration. (i designed an auto-ingite one once, it used a piece of phosphorous inside the sealed jar. when the jar cracks, the phosphorous ignites on its own [it actually does do that] and starts the fuel going) Tetranitrate proved that ammonium triiodide was unstable, thanks. petrol in its liquid form is not a HIGH EXPLOSIVE as you said, though when it's in its gaseous form, in hte correct mixture with air it can make a terrible mess (buncefield, anyone?) nothing can blow up when you just leave it there, there has to be some sort of stimulus. potassium nitrate can't do it. nothing can Maybe the stimulus would be that it dries out (picric acid? correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't is contact sensative?) but without a stimulus, nothing'll happen. thanks for your concerns for our safety, but do your research next time (i can't claim any prizes for that) and FGS, there's no need topost the SAME DAMN TOPIC 8 TIMES

the link's a mistake, it goes nowhere. phosphorous does actually ignite when it contacts the oxygen in the air, though.

This is your 8th post about the same exact topic. I appreciate your thought of our safety, but I think we get the point the first time.

Thank you? I know a lacrosse player who blew part of his hand off with an M-80. I am sure that some crazy people here have just gotten some ideas from this post.
