What benefits come with achieving medals? Answered

I have just received a medal after having my post featured on the homepage, awesome!

As I'm new to this I was wondering whether there are and additional benefits to achieving medals other than kudos? Do they unlock any features as you progress?

Yeah, I think I received a years free pro membership.
I'm really pleased with that. It was completely unexpected.

It's certainly a good system. I'm already thinking of my next instructable.

You should receive either a year or 3 month subscription code every time you have a guide featured. It is a good system because despite having over a decade worth of codes waiting to be used I still love seeing that email come in.

Didn't you get 3 months pro membership with the featured medal?

Supposed to. Well, actually for every one featured you get the 3 months, but the medal shows at least one was featured. Get 3 more and you get a whole year and I think that's worth about $50.00. It's been so long I don't remember the price. Still have more than 15 years worth saved up.
