What does "Feature Comment" mean? Answered

Hi

When you post a comment or look at an answer to a question you've posted...it has a checkbox which says feature comment. I've been wondering what it actually does. I've been checking it whenever I see it. Is it necessary?

Thank you

When you click "Feature Comment", it brings that comment to the top. Even if someone else posts a comment, the "Featured" one will stay on the top.

See what I did it here, for example. I posted the comment, and featured it, so it would stay on the top everyone could see it. You can try it on my comment here.

thanks...I thought it was to make the comment public...so everyone could see it, not just the author of the ible or whatever

That's what I did in the beginning. I used to feature all of the comments that were posted, because I thought it would show them only that way...
