What happened to being able to search members? Answered

Just wondering, used to I was able to use the instructables search engine to search members. I often used it to see what usernames were already taken when I first started creating my account. I also used it later on to find people that might want to join a group I'd created. Does anybody know what happened to that feature? Or if it's still available and I just can't find it?

Nope, it's gone. They removed it a while back. Now if you want to find a member you have to hope they've posted a comment or an Instructable.

Sorry for jumping on the band wagon a little late, but you can search for members like this:

On Google, type in the name you want then "site: www.instructables.com" like this "BonemanX3 site:www.instructables.com"  You are the first hit, obviously.

You can also do this: "paleontology site:www.instructables.com".  You are the third hit on this.

Anyway, hope this helps.

I usually just type the username in the Search box and hope for the best. If they don't turn up in the inital results list, I search "All". If they don't turn up in that list, you're SOL unless you happen to see their tag in a comment thread.
