What is a moldable material that can be drilled into?
Hi all,
I'm a student working on a project, and i've run into a bit of a problem finding a material such as an epoxy or resin that can be molded to fit a groove, and be drilled into once dry. I have a plastic rim that I would like to fill in the grove where the inner tube would normally be.

This picture is similar to the rim we have.
If anyone has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated.

It looks to me like fibreglass re-inforced plastic, so literally everything will stick to it.
Costwise I would opt for a fibreglss resin with shredded fibreglass as a filler for added strength.
Creating a very rough surface first using coarse sandpaper or similar will help to increase bonding strength.

Use a two-pack epoxy, add a thixotropic additive, to make it stick in the groove.
Epoxy doesn't DRY, it CURES.
