What is a recipe for refractory cement in small amounts? Answered

https://www.instructables.com/id/Mini-Charcoal-Furnace/#step1
This has me wanting to make my own foundry, however i can't find how to make refractory cement, and nutandbolt doesn't list his own recipe.

Alternatively, Where can I buy refractory cement in Australia?

Perlite ground to a fine powder in a blender .
Mox equal parts perlite powder to equal parts plaster of Paris.
Make a thin clay slurry . Add mixed powders till thick like cream of mushroom soup .
Add 1 cup water glass. Mixing well.
Soup like texture will thicken once waterglass/sodium silica is added.

If need . Add more power slowwwly...

Till texture is achieved. . Scoop / pour mixture into a mold lined with paper towel.

I have made this and blasted with Map Gas and propane. Neither will crack the bricks. And the heat will penetrate only 1/4 inch deep from surface

It should be available at professional builders supply stores, and in small quantities at DIY big box stores. (I purchased a ~1 gallon container a couple of years ago to do tuck pointing on my fireplace's firebox (although I still haven't gotten to the job yet...grrrr)

You need to look for sources of "calcium aluminate" -find a good traditional "builders merchant"
