What is this tool!?? Answered

Hey friends, what is this tool?? I think a part of it may have broken off the top. I really need to know as it was left by a burglar who broke into our house. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!! :)

It was a crochet hook, you can use them for other stuff too.
Like me, I prefer the tiny versions when splicing paracord and such.
What is missing is the hook.
That tiny lever that is left folds over the hook when you pull it out to prevent getting stuck.
Not really worth keeping and you get them new for often under 5 bucks in the sewing department of a good supermarket.

My first thought was "tack puller" but Penolopy's comment seems more accurate due to the bent shank. Could you upload a picture with another angle? a top down view might help as would any makers marks if you can find them.

Looks like a latch hook used to hook yarn onto canvas to create an image.
