What kind of hinge do you think this chair would use?

I'm not all that familiar with furniture design, but I'd like to make something like this folding chair.
Anybody have an idea what the hinge might be made of or look like?

I know enough about furnature, and it look to me that that the is a 1/2in wooden dowel running through both halfs of the chair to forum a axle. I would make this chair out of some forum of hardwood because I do not think that a 1/2 in pine dowel would last under much pressure.

Yeah, I think you're right.

If you look closely, there doesn't need to be a hinge. A bar just behind where the back meets the leg will do the same thing-you can just see the bar between the first two slats of the back. Still folds up and you don't have to try to drill all those matching holes : )

I imagine that it just has a rod that goes all the way through where the back and seat intersect.
