What makes a knex gun accurate? Answered

Yer so what makes a knex gun accurate and I've also noticed that people say "this gun can shoot 10m" which is false because it's more to do with the elastic bands you are using rather than the actual gun.

I personally think it is the person. Sure, a bullet(not round) will fly on a straight path, but...

Yeah I don't really see the point in when people add how powerful their gun is. All it's for is to attract people. The only factors that decided how powerful it will be on the gun is the Firing pin and the friction (and I suppose ammo). As for accuracy it does rely on the gun being sturdy enough and getting enough power. It also depends on the ammo. Green and whites sometimes blue are light enough that they just don't have the momentum to keep them going. Longer rods usually way a tad too much and although they are usually more accurate they get affected by gravity more. The trick is to find the balance which can also be affected by your gun.

WRONG! gravity has the same effect on all mass.

True I said that the wrong way. what I ment is that heavier ammo obviously takes more energy to shoot and so they don't go quite as far.

not really, K'Nex rods are so light that there mass is almost exact from rod to rod. my strongest gun shoots grey rods, it makes no difference because of the almost frictionless barrel.

the actual gun does have an amount to do with the accuracy and range. The amount of friction and rubbing the projectiles are submitted to greatly affects range and accuracy, but a steady and sturdy gun will always be more accurate
