¿What power source is more efficient?
For a project I have to decide between a mechanical generator (I.E. one attached to a bike's wheel) o an array of cheap solar panels.
Anyone has experience with this? What is your advice?
I only need to supply power to recharge four generic AA batteries once a day.
Thanks!

Ni-Cad and other rechargeable AA batteries can take hours to charge depending on the charge rate. So I would go solar as long as you get enough sunlight. There is more in this Instructable.

Batteries can only be charged at a given rate. So, if 2 hrs is the minimum time to charge em, you'll b pedaling 2 hrs.

But. If u use bike 20 min per day, to charge a big battery, then that battery can trickle charge the little batteries any time.

Depends on who you want to do the work ;-) A BLDC motor attached to a wheel would be a very efficient generator.
