I'd like to make some aluminum bowls and pans, what aluminum alloy sources are safe to use for this?

That's some good info, I think it might help. I want to be able to cook with it, also use as serving bowls or something similar.

Well, Wikipedia wasn't much use, but it got me thinking - you want to know what alloys you've got and what alloys are used for cookware. Drinks cans are lacquered I believe, so they're not necessarily food-grade metal? Having said that, the mechanical properties are probably as important for commercial manufacturing - not a lot of cast cookware.

Look forward to seeing what you can do (I almost made a sugar-bowl once, but the sand was a bit too damp...)

Lemonie - thanks to the link. I know this is an older post, but I found it when I needed it and the uk site provides a good source of information.
