hognose i have them in my yard all of the time they are not venomous and they are not nocturnal their main defense is the markings which are extremely similar to the desert night snake and the copper head but this is niether this is just a harmless hognose you can tell by the flat nose
The pattern is similar to a hognose, but that's not a hognose at all. No hognose has protruding eyes, and hognoses don't have much of a visible neck. This snake does. I don't know what it is, but it's not a hognose.
From the pattern and eyes, it looks like a desert nightsnake. Semi-venomous snake that is not really dangerous to humans, and as the name suggests is nocturnal.
