Rejoice! Because now that TV can no longer waste your time! Except possibly with efforts to repair it... and then again in the usual way, if you succeed in repairing it.

And that can be fun too. I mean, fixing things is a different kind of entertainment. It is a lot more active than just sitting on the couch and watching TV.

You get to take the screws out, and take the cover off it, and look at all the weird stuff inside.

Then you get to do a lot of guessing and testing.

That is to say, you come up with guesses (aka hypotheses) for why the TV does not work. Then you use your testing tools to test those guesses.

I mean, you can spend hours, or even days, doing this, without guarantee of success.

As part of the fun, you can search the internet for pdf copies of service manuals, or for chatter on forums where people share stories about fixing things.

The best is when there is a pattern of TVs like yours, e.g. similar make and model, all failing in the same way. That way, there is good chance that problem is also your problem, and then you know.

And knowing is half the battle. That's some ancient wisdom from Sun Tzu. Or maybe it was GI Joe? I get those guys confused sometimes. ;-)

Anyway, I wish you the best of luck for your TV fixing adventure!

I could do an hour of guesswork now but something tells me that vital details might prevent that.
Thinks, like brand and model, age, what options you have to check the power supply and capacitors on it...
