Whats the name of Answered

whats the name of that dial switch thingy found on old ships, you know where someone says "Full steam ahead!"
and then they push this lever all the way forward and it makes bell noises as it does it and lights up a little sign on the side. Its circular, you know what i'm talking about!

I'm thinking about making an intense nixie multimeter using scientific nixies and whatnot. The EOT wil be the selector switch instead of a lame little dial switch.
