Where can I find a lens for my laser? Answered

I'm building a laser gun and I would like a lens for the laser to shine through. How much of an effect would this have and where can I find a lens? Could I salvage the one from my broken galaxy player's camera? Also, what would the effect be to feed the laser extra power? Right now, it runs off of three button batteries, like the cheap ones packaged with many things, but I would like to run it off of a battery bank with four AA batteries.

OK what laser do you have.

There different lasers with different needs.

Second button batteries go as high as 4 volts so you may need 12 volts to run it.

Please be more concise.

A lens depending on focal length can concentrate a laser to a smaller point and disperse it after that.

Increasing power current to a laser if it can take the increase without overheating Will increase the strength of the light beam. Take care not to destroy your laser gun,

The way green lasers are upowered ... which are IR lasers feeding a frequency doubling crystal and a reducing crystal to create the green light. Hackers do push these by increasing the voltage in fractions of a volt from o.5mw to nearly 10mw.

Lenses specifically for use with lasers can be found with various specs, and for reasonable prices, on ebay.
