Windows Problems? Answered

Someone help me a problem with a PC, point out that I'm not too good with computers. I wanted to say that I can not use because whenever I turn on my desktop image appears blue with many codes. Does anyone know what this means?

I am going to take a leap here and say that it is a virus problem. I followed your link to your page and my AV program freaked out. It says there is something malicious on your page and won't allow it to load. So you are probably infected with something. Not only that but it might also be infecting anyone who goes to your web page.

Like the others have said it is called a Blue screen of death.

It might be possible to fix it, it can be caused by many things.

If the screen just flashes and restarts then you need to start in safe mode and select the option not to automatically restart. Then when it blue screens, copy down the codes that it gives. You can also just take a picture of it instead of writing it down but make sure it is readable.

Then using another computer Google the codes and see what it says. If it is an easy fix then you might be able to do it yourself. If not then find someone there who can do the repair.

As a last resort you might have to reinstall the opperating system.

Now that I am pretty sure its a virus problem you need to have someone remove the hard drive and scan it for viruses before you do anything else.

It's hard to say what the problem is and how to go about fixing it without being in front of the machine. You'll need to take it to a tech and have it looked at. It could be anything. You could have a corrupt file, a dead HDD, bad power supply, virus or a broken accessory.

That is called a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death). Many many things can cause this to happen. How old is the computer? I assume it's an off the shelf system like a Dell or HP right? What computer is it? Have you added any new hardware recently?

That's a core dump. There should be some readable text among it, and if you google that text, you can often find the solution.

I have seen these happen when moving a hard drive to a different computer, changing/increasing/decreasing RAM or plugging in USB Devices. They are usually caused by exceeding the hardware capabilities of the system, or using incompatible device drivers.
