I guess the reason I posted that was because my Grandmother, who is now deceased, left me a scrapbook that she made while my Grandfather was in World War II. It is quite interesting.
There have been more of them made but lets face it, making a movie about the role women play during wartime is going to be harder than making a movie about war. There would have to be an actual story line with real writing etc. It couldn't depend on special effects to carry it. And that statement was in no way a cut to women or the part they play in wartime.
Also, if you can find it, one of Alan Bennett short, one man, one act plays "Talking heads" , with Dame Thora Hurd, was a particularly searing example.

The first eight out of 9 in this link look promising.

There are some, or at least TV series.
Vera Brittain's book "Testament of Youth" was filmed in the 1980s, and is being re-done right now.
