a 567 page document................made in 5 seconds. Answered

ok, this is a document i made in ms word today. It is 567 pages long, and made in 5 seconds. Yes, 5 seconds, not 5 months, no joke. No copy and paste either, or a download (those take about a minute each for a document 567 pages long)

if you want to know how to do it yourself, first of all, dont bother with this unless you have word 2007, as it does not work in past versions of office. However, i have saved this document in compatibility mode, so you can see it has 567 pages yourself.

the upload for this document is taking a while............about 2 mins

you used some sort of code.
when i copy and paste the entire document into a comment box, all i get is a one-paragraph thing...
it's just the same thing over and over again with some sort of code, probably the one they mentioned below...

No, he may well have a virus and not know it. Arguing with me makes it less likely that I'll download your file.

all it is, is Both the Themes gallery and the Quick Styles gallery provide reset commands so that you can always restore the look of your document to the original contained in your current template. On the Insert tab, the galleries include items that are designed to coordinate with the overall look of your document. You can use these galleries to insert tables, headers, footers, lists, cover pages, and other document building blocks. When you create pictures, charts, or diagrams, they also coordinate with your current document look. You can easily change the formatting of selected text in the document text by choosing a look for the selected text from the Quick Styles gallery on the Home tab. You can also format text directly by using the other controls on the Home tab. Most controls offer a choice of using the look from the current theme or using a format that you specify directly. To change the overall look of your document, choose new Theme elements on the Page Layout tab. To change the looks available in the Quick Style gallery, use the Change Current Quick Style Set command. copied.

This will still not help you if you have a term-paper due in the morning. 3 points if you can explain to everyone what this function is used for. :)

I was hoping R would respond but he might have gotten pwned on this.

I think the sentence used in Word may be different in other versions, especially in different languages. I don't know if you can easily change the text it pumps out. The "quick brown fox..." was used once to test typing skills for manual dexterity and correctness as your fingers fly all over the keyboard.

Anyway, if you were composing a newspaper or something like it, and the reporter does not have his/her article ready to print and you as the editor asked for a specific length article or essay, you can continue to block out the page by using a placeholder for the missing text. You can then reflow the real copy over the randomly generated text.

I was going to say, lorem ipsum is way better for placeholder text as it more closely mimics actual english letter frequencies.
