any ideas on how to repair a dell 1300 a/c cable that has a broken wire at the brick itself? Answered

I take it the brick means the power supply.
Here is what we have done. Find the seam that goes around usually the side. Lay the brick on something solid  seam side up. Take a hammer and give it a good smack. You may have to do this on all sides. This usually breaks the glue joint. We have found fuses in side that you could not get at, imagine, fuses inside and when it quits, they want you to replace it.

It has worked for me.

.  It's just a matter of splicing the wire(s) back together. Getting the brick apart so you can get to the wires is probably going to be the hard part - they are often glued or welded together. If so, you will have to break the brick open and hope you don't destroy anything inside.
