Do what they do to cats or puppies so they won't be afraid of the pet taxie. Put food and water in front of the cage. When he eats and drinks comfortably, put the food and water inside the door when he's OK with that, keep putting the food and water into the cage farther in. It's slow but it works and don't slam the door when he's inside or he'll think every time he goes into the cage, he's trapped. Play with him at the door, then close the door gently. Tell him he's a good boy and when he goes outside, put his food into the cage, when you want to have him go in. Feed and water him in his cage after he has been out playing. That will be his reward.

you could make a deadfall, you need a 2 black/blue large plate long by 1 black-blue plate wide. prop it up in the air with a red rod and an orange connector, nestle the orange connector on the rod, run a string from the BOTTOM of the rod through and around the other side near the top. then affix a piece of steak to the string. place a weight (rocks work nice) on the top of the trap, set the trap so the string is taut and when the ferret tries to eat the steak it will pull the steak down to it's level (if you have a big ferret make it taller) and spring the rod out of its place, the rock will hold the trap down and dthe ferret will be caught. (i accept no ilability for you being maimed by an angry ferret.)

if he bites you take a large weight and hit him over the head with it until he lets go. then bandage yourself and afterwards go kick something hard.

OK, I am not that familiar with them. The closest I've been to one is at my friends house.

Viccie.B1993 made a knex bear trap, and I_am_canadian made a knex guinea pig trap, but it could hold ferrets depending on the size and bait you put in.

I also can't see knex holding up long against a determined ferret. They have very sharp teeth.

I think you'd be better off with a proper trap; I don't think K'NEX would last long against a determined ferret.

My son made a Knex duck trap once. Just a box with a post and pull-string to trigger it. Caught a duck . . . for about 5 seconds.
