anyone know much about fly fishing reels? Answered

ok so i have a okuma fly fishing reel that ticks,i once stopped it from ticking but forgot how anyone have any suggestions?

ps.im off on a fishing holiday soon and need info asap

but i havent got one,i have 2 dials that say more or less,more is more drag less is less drag,it works by adjusting a pawl inside the reel,there was a combinaion of the dials that made it silent but i cant remeber it

.  Quick searches of the Okuma web site for "380s" and "380S" turned up no hits. ;(

not your reel but everything else seems to point to taking your reel apart and then breaking off the clicker striker.  On other brands, the clicker is integral to the operation and is the pawl mechanism so you can't really file down the noisemaking part that comes in contact with the other metal.  That spring tension is needed for the proper operation.  Did you happen to take your reel apart last time to inspect it or turn the direction around and maybe bent the clicker?
