anyone knows how are these fish specimens made?
Hi
member kowitz from flickr posted some pictures from the tokyo make meeting of what appear to be transparent colored fish specimens inside glass bottles.
Anyone knows the name or how a re they made?
I can't find anything anywhere...

Thanks everyone!
Well, I seems too complicated or expensive to even try it out.
I think it's better to fly to tokyo instead.

Intriguing.
It took some looking but the technique is called "Clearing and Staining".
Doesn't look to complex, just tedious.

I looked further into it, you can purchase all the supplies from Fisher scientific and Carolina Biological, the problem is some of the stains are $10 a gram and have minimum quantities
