. IIRC, this site is optimized for FF. About the only time I use IE is for Windows/Microsoft Update.

That is simply one of these: " Some areas of Instructables can't show them, so that is what they show!

This is probably because the author has a little (or a lot) knowledge of HTML, and wanted to use it for formatting purposes. Unfortunately, it isn't supported.

Sounds like a possible Safari problem ? :-) I have FF too, but also use FLOCK quite often and it does pretty much just as well.

As long as you're using a relatively common OS, you shouldn't be having problems. It may be from the new update, but I haven't seen any problems yet.
