What kind of boat you want to build really depends on what you want. If your are going for better gas mileage it would need to be light and sleek. A boats size could range from something called a coracle (which is nothing more than a water proof basket) to a monolithic super structure its up to you.

How light do you want it to be, and do you want to be able to carry it? I live in Virginal now, but I lived in Winsted until I was eight. I visited my relatives up there a few years ago so I know the area pretty well. I hope you are not going to boat on the rivers I know of ,because your boat would need to be made of steel to get through them.
