There exist ATX power supplies intended to be powered from a 12 volt battery, intended to be used for with car computers.
I think using an inverter, together with a ordinary mains powered ATX power supply, will waste power, and produce a lot of 60 Hz, and 120 Hz noise, you do not want.
With the right inverter you can wire 3 or 4 PC to a car. Though it will be a heavy strain on the car's electrical system. If the alternator isn't able to keep up you can kill the battery pretty fast.

Switch out the inverter, and use a DC-DC power supply

You could probably use the 12V supply from the car, in some way (without the ATX PSU).
