digital soldering glasses... i need inSIGHT. Answered

I have a idea, to create digital soldering glasses but don't have any inclinations on what direction to go or what mats. to use. I have entertained microscope lenses, ben franklin-esk, lenses (not digital),surveillance pens( not sure how to zoom them),phone cameras( no idea how they zoom either (not in a diy fasion)) a small screen to a hacked digital camera scope, I am a experienced circuit developer with limited understanding of optics. so here is the question if not "think tank" disclosure. if you were to make "zoom glasses" what you use and why.  other low tech to turn digital to be jewelry quality scopes. magnifying lenses for eyeglass repair, etc.     thanks for your time and consideration.

We had a magnifying station for delicate solder works on parts below 0201 SMD, also used for quality control.

Using glasses might sound like a plan but creates more problems that solutions.

For once you loose your normal vision and can't realise the depths anymore, also checking something out of focus range is next to impossible.

Our station had a top mounted hi-res camera with several filters, from colors over reflection to polarised.

The workpiece goes on the platform and the screen for the cam is right behind.

Takes a bit of getting used to watching the screen for what your fingers and tools do but works really well once you get the hang of it.

Best thing about it is that you can zoom the screen to whatever size and area you need.

search "magnifying glasses dental", the medical profession uses them.

oh, and if you wanted to do something like a webcam/digital cam to tiny viewer, notethat even the tiniest bit of lag to the screen will mess with your motor coordination and make you feel sick. Try walking while watching the just the video screen on your phone cam or camcorder...
