do i need a resistor to make a the Bawls lamp if im using batterys? plz link pic if possible or a very discribed answer. I am only 14 :D thanks.

ANY led circuit needs something to limit the current since leds are pretty much a short circuit, and can be damaged by over-powering them.

use 'the' wizard http://led.linear1.org/led.wiz to calculate with input from your led(s)...
source voltage will be whatever your battery voltage
look at the datasheet for your led for 'forward voltage'
current in mA is usually 10-25 mA for 5mm leds
total # of leds...depend on how bright you want it.

Wire up the circuit exactly as the wizard suggests.
