This is a forum post created by the Instructables staff on behalf of the finalist.

This laser cutter would be put to good and plenty use by all artists and collaborators involved with both the Grafftit Research Lab and Free Art & Technology Lab. We could really use this to help get our new open source lab off the ground. Help bring a Laser Cutter to Brooklyn!

wish you were all here @ the lab now to pick your brains - im stuck @ Eyebeam doing some shitty corporate gig for Old Navy hiding out in the workshop.. well shit pays the bills so i can buy projectors, leds, wiimotes, and whatnot. hope you win that lazer cutter... keep up the good work -doc

non-virtual fatlab = awesome, but you always are welcome to cut at eyebeam. we loved the $ sign made out of dollar bill cutouts.

Sick, can't wait 2 figure out what the hell ur talking about here and make 1 of my own. When r u gonna create sumthin that sprays paint this far??? It'd B nice 4 L.A. Maybe a strap that shoots a slug that explodes into a piece or a charac. Whatever, that's Y ur tha lab n I'm not.

GRL. Honestly you guy's are amazing and I have been following you ever since you first got boingboinged. This is a really neat effect and might be just the right way to make our shopping cart at modati. Man, that's a neat idea, especially if the design is a wrap around. I might have to try this out! And a question...is GRL going to Medellin, Colombia in March for the Medelink festival? I would like to see you all there, I'm hosting a workshop with local graff artists and it would be fun to have some input from the GRL team itself!
