Kirk Hamett isn't a bassist. You are thinking of Cliff Burton. And you can't even hear his bass in most of the Metallica songs. Meh.

. Nope. But during the period when I went to concerts (70s), I lived ~60 miles outside of Chicago and got to see a lot of other greats. Foghat, REO Speedwagon, Ted Nugent, Beach Boys, Cheap Trick (at a small bar before they hit it big), Jethro Tull (2x), J. Geils Band, ... . Since then, I've caught Ronnie Milsap (don't ask), Stevie Nicks, Pure Prairie League (Amie is MUCH better live), and a few others. . Had a chance to see Led Zeppelin, but I screwed up and missed my ride. :(

I missed a chance to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra live and local a few years back. I still have the shoe marks on my backside for all the kicking myself I have done for that one.
