0dkennelly 12 years ago Yep, kelseymh got it right. The British ThrustSSC in the Black Rock Desert on 13 October 1997 broke the sound barrier and 2 days later broke it's own record which currently stands at 760 mph. It's not really a car, but a wheeled land vehicle.
