has anyone tried underfloor cooling? Answered

i have set up the underfloor tubes for heating but still havent bought the pump and the heater core so i`m thinking of trying to cool the floor and hope to cool the room cos its unbearably hot.
small pump 3w running ffrom a 5w (i think) solar panel
cold water in a bucket and add ice cubes from time to time

So because of things like thermodynamics and heat transfer cooling in the floor won't work like heating. A hot floor will radiate into the room heating it but a cool floor can only absorb energy right from the layer next to it. Convection of the air will help but it's not going to be as effective as other cooling methods. If you get it cool enough it could be potentially dangerous to be in prolonged contact with it, as can a heated floor (Don't sleep directly on a heated or cooled floor).

Honestly the floor would only be marginally better, if not worse, than just the bucket of ice water with a fan blowing over it.

Don't. You can drop the slab temperature to less than the dew point, and your floor will get wet with condensation

Ice will NOT work.

Your freezer will heat up your house while cooling down the ice more than the ice would cool it down.

Perpetuum mobile.

Ice would melt really fast so you would need to change it every 1-2h
Better solution would be to add something like peltiere module
