help with software choice? Answered

hi i am entering a competition where we have to make a small presentation, but i want it to standout over the others. We are doing this competition in groups of 3 and one of us is good at computers and i can learn software quickly. So can somebody tell me what software is use to make this video presentation or some similar programs that can help me make a presentation similar to this, Thanks.

Kind of hard to see from that picture... but that looks kind of like After Effects... which is the program I would use to make that video. Just so you are aware, After Effects is not exactly cheap, easy to use, or resource friendly, so make sure that you have extra money lying around, have a few years of experience editing videos, and have a $1000+ custom built computer to run the program on, otherwise I might suggest trying an easier style of video to edit. :) (I don't want to discourage you, but at the same time I don't want you to be out a lot of money and time)

No, it was the first, and I didn't watch it all the way through, just enough to see what you were trying to do. If you have some experience in animation or video editing, then you will be fine in terms of the actual editing process, but I'm just saying that if this is say your first time editing a video, then you will find it harder than you think. I still think it was After Effects that made it, and any Adobe program is a resource hog, so you will need a pretty decent computer to run it, not to mention the cost of the program itself. ($1000 see http://www.adobe.com/cart.html?marketSegment=COM&editSku=65174974)

I can't say for sure, but it does look like After Effects. I have it and use it and you DEFINITELY need a decent computer to run it. Its also not exactly user friendly for the first time (that's after you shell out the money to buy it).

Yep... I'm glad I used it on someone elses computer the first time I used it... otherwise I would have had a heart attack thinking "what the heck did I just shell out $500 for???" (At the time I bought it I was in school, so the student discounts really helped!) ;)

Then you should be fine to run After Effects. (Just don't have too many other applications opened at the same time).

Yes, that should run it, just don't expect it to run extremely fast. I use 3.2 GHz with 20 GB of RAM, with my OS and Master Collection running on a SSD, but I'm just a geek! ;)

Do you have to give a presentation, or just make one on a PC?
