how can i run dc motor with specific criterias as per detail? Answered

1) the motor should move forward for cirtain RPM then STOP when supply is on.
2) the motor should move reverse with exact same RPM then STOP when supply CUT OFF.

the supply volage is 230V
the motor is 12V DC.

1. Your not telling us the whole story.

2. You will not get precision from a plain DC motor.

3. You need to know what an encoder does.

4. The motor will not stop if the supply is still connected unless you fit some kind of mechanical clutch

5 To run in reverse you need to know what an H bridge does.

6. Forward to a stop point after so many turns when supply is on - Back for the same number of turns when the supply is off is going to be complicated to achieve.

You can't run the motor without a supply so you have to have a secondary supply and your main supply is just a direction signal. As you seem a little confused I suspect your electrical knowledge is rather limited so i am not too sure you would be able to do this successfully - try looking up the things I pointed you to above.

I would use a microprocessor, I would use the on off supply as a direction signal and put a shaft encoder on the motor to count revolutions. But I think that will be beyond your skill set at present.

What about the load?
Just asking as it affects the speed as well.
How do you want to check for the correct RPM`s?
Do you have any technical or electrical knowledge to go from or anything you started on this project already so we actually know the goals?

For "Exact same", you need some kind of measurement of the motor speed, and control of the driving voltage.

but Speed x time = distance. Are you actually trying to make something move a certain distance and back again ? That would be easier to arrange
