Great find Rick, I had an aunt who would not kill the pests but instead would spray paint and release them at a mileage per color distance in the many forest preserves around Hollywood Illinois. Only the color never came back and those were mice that were released across two canals (rivers).

Chicago canals have waste debris and strange creatures in the water.

Come winter freeze the canals are most excellent skate paths, I recall one late freeze a Volkswagen tried to drive on the canals and sank in thin ice.

Come spring the township had a crane recover the vehicle as an obstruction to boating and discovered a large turtle was attempting to mate with the German car...

Clever little buggers and quite good at licking peanut butter off a trap without setting it off. Chocolate works better.

I had an aunt that discovered these creatures return to a food source from over 8 miles.

I tried them all, from conventional, over glue and poison to some fancy trap types.
But with endless supply of new mice coming from the neighbours I reverted back to the best mouse trap ever:
Simply letting my cats out for a few hours a day.
In the beginning they dropped several a day on my doorstep, now it is down to about one per month, mostly young ones...
