how do i create a 12 volt (for an harddisk) on a notebook motherboard or something of it?
im building a media pc of an old laptop but i need a 12 volt for the hard drive can someone maby help me

Most laptops have a different ide cable that supplies the power on the cable. It requires a drive that matches the cable.
Google "Ide pinout" to get a better explanation.
I don't know if an adapter is available or not.

If the old laptop doesn't have a spare one (and I wonder why it's got the data-cable but no power?) , you should get another PC PSU.

You could use a regular computer power supply, they usually have at least 3.3V, 5V, 12V and -12V.
