Go and speak to them (they'll be very happy to talk to you) and walk away looking only slightly interested - take a business card. Then go to the next dealer and do the same, but this time tell them what the previous dealer offered you. Go round several always telling them what the competition are offering. When you find something that looks good, look interested, but ask them for a bit more, like a full tank of gas or something extra.
I should think they're desperate to get rid of what they've got, you'll be able to take advantage of this.
But never let it slip that you need to buy: approach in the guise of "I was thinking about a new car, what kind of deals can I get at the moment? (if there's nothing I like I'm sticking with what I've got, or going somewhere else)"

If you know what kind of car you want go on line and find out what others are paying for it. Or do one of them build your car things to get an idea what the cost will be. that way you wont taken for when they show you the sticker price. Also if you like a particular car and have internet on your cell phone punch in the VIN number on the car to find out exactly what its worth. Its not cheating, your insurance company and financial office will do the same thing for when they secure the loan. Incase they do a bait and switch on you. (you will still have to pay like sales tax license fees and such though so its not accurate but its close). Last get the car financed through your bank not the auto place, they will try to rape you on price/interest, even if you got a "good deal" they will get their money back in financing/monthly payments. If you have no credit history, get your parent to sign for the loan but have the money taken out of your bank account on pay day. Your mom and dad has a better credit score than you do and can secure a lower interest rate. With out my mom i would have had to pay 13.5% interest, IF i got it approved, but I got it with 5.75 with my mom cosigning it.
