These are what I do. 1) Decide on something you want to describe. 2) Take pictures of the steps involved. It is best if you take pictures as you are doing the project. Take extra pictures. It is better to throw some out than it is to wish you had one you did not take. Learn how to light your pictures well. If you use close ups (macro photography), learn how to make your camera focus on the object, not of something three feet away in the background. 3) Edit your photos to crop out distracting things in the background and save the photos in a folder. 4) Open the Submit page at Instructables. 5) Upload all of your photos in files that are not too large. 6) Begin writing the steps in your Instructable. Make good use of the spell check. Plug a suspect word into Google and see if it corrects your spelling. Use standard English, not texting abbreviations or slang. Attach (Add) the appropriate photo to each step. 7) View your Instructable before publishing it. Make sure your steps are clear and follow one another logically. Look at it several times to weed out all grammatical and spelling errors. 8) Punch on the Publish button. Follow the prompts. 9) Wait patiently until you begin getting hits on your Instructable. If you publish on a Saturday, it could be a few days before your Instructable is available for viewing. Be gracious when someone makes a critical comment. It does happen. For further help, view a number of Featured Instructables. The editors like those. See if you can learn what kinds of things they have in common.
