I want to add a bridge or extend (not sure of the correct term) internet to my 1st floor. I dont want the second router or extender to connect through wifi with the first or main router, can I connect the second router to the first with cat5? and how?

Cat 45 cable from one of the data ports of the first router to the wan port of the second router. It may or may not need a crossover adapter. Then it depends on what IP scheme you want to use as to set the second router.

Lots of instructions and videos on the net to do that. You just have to make sure your second router has the software capability to be configured as a bridge or "wireless extender" in order to configure a single home network. The new router would just act as a wireless access point to hand off everything back to the main router on the ethernet wire.
