The problem seems to exist with AdBlock Plus on Firefox. If you either disable AdBlock, or create an exception to "disable on Instructables.com", it should take care of the issue. You could also try updating AdBlock.

Staff is aware of this problem, and are working on a fix (last I heard), so there is NO need to post any bug reports, as there are many of them already.

I had the same problem, and I'm also using Safari with a MacBook.

Copy the following notes, and do this while you are logged out of Instructables and only have one window of Safari open.

The first thing you want to do is click on "Safari" in the menu and then click on "Empty Cache". When you are prompted, click on "Empty".

The next thing you want to do is clear the Instructables cookie. Again, click on "Safari" and then click on "Preferences" and then go to "Privacy". You'll see "Cookies and other website data:" - At this point you can either remove all cookies (by clicking on the "Remove All Website Data.." button); or click on the "Details" button and then using the search line, start typing in "instructables" until it shows up on the list. Click on the cookie for "Instructables.com" and click on the "Remove" button and then close Preferences.

Now log back into Instructables and the thumbnails should work.

If you're still having trouble, then let me know.

I'm not going to ask you to do something you don't want to... but just so you know, clearing the cache on your computer will NOT delete your passwords. That's saved in a completely different area on your computer. The cache is designed to save information from pages you visit (to your HD) so that it loads faster the next time. The problem with that, is when a site like Instructables does an update, your computer can still be loading data from the cache and therefor you're still experiencing problems that have been fixed. The cache can also get confused by the data it stores and can cause problems that don't even exist on webpages. The issue they are taking care of is for FF users, and even when that's updated, those users will likely have to clear their cache as well. However, its up to you. I have a MacBook and I use Safari, plus I have many years design/development experience, so I'm not trying to give you bad advice.

Well that's not good... I had the problem for about a day (after a recent Instructables update), but after clearing my cache and cookies, it started working again.

If that doesn't help, adding a comment to this bug report might get some attention.
