i found an atmel atmega8535, what do i need to program it? Answered

ive found the IDE for programming the atmega8535, but im wondering what external components are needed to program it?

Its an SPI port, so anything that can bang SPI bus can do it. You can even use Arduinos.

i havent got any arduinos i can use, but i do have the parallel and rs-232 port available, surely i can use those and install an arduino bootloader on it, right?
and then just do the coding using those?

Yes, you can find bit-bangers that work via LPT1 - but I'm not sure if they work via USB-LPT adapters,
