I dunno. Maybe you could use the keyboard to type some words? Or use the mouse to move the mouse pointer around, and "click" on some things?

Too easy right?

Use the mouse to reproduce two dimensional physical movements as scaled two dimensional digital movements with the ability to interact with the digital representation via multiple momentary switches.

The keyboard can be used to interpret the pressing of momentary switches, fixed in a set array, as predetermined outputs based on position in said array. Most often these arrays are arranged in one of a couple common layouts but this can be changed by either rearranging the array or reprogramming the outputs, or both.

Used together and as described above the mouse and keyboard can control upwards of 350 million transistors and complete exceptionally complex tasks and calculations. I've used several mice and keyboards in this manner and can say that you should really try it out.

Unfortunately, it is still more fun to whack someone over the head with it, at least that is what I have gathered from random observation.

Hmmm, seems like we need some science! An experiment comparing normal usage to usage as blunt force trauma delivery items.

Not much you can do with the track pad and keyboard from a laptop.

I can tell you what not to do with them. DO NOT hit other people over the head with the keyboard and do not swing the mouse around to see how fast it can go before it flies off the cord.
