Can also use different colored & patterned beans, legumes, grains, etc. Draw a pattern or pic, then glue into sections.

Can use different colors & textures cloth scraps, in similar way as I suggested for the paper.

Have a bunch of old national geographics, or other mags, or old calenders with lots of colorful pics? Cut up & paste in a collage. I've designed bookmarks with such, covering with clear packing tape. It is best to fold over the edges, as they will come apart eventually if cut the edges of tape close to edges of bookmark.

For the wall colloge, probably can use clear packing tape, or spray/paint on clear wood or craft sealer, & frame in lathe or thick cardboard.

I made some great free art the other day that ANYBODY can do!! I'll be posting an instructable for it once I find my camera, but here is the basic idea: Take some drawing tablet paper- or any thick heavier paper. Then color large blocks of color on the background. I used oil pastels since they gave it a more textured look. Then either draw free hand, or print off a picture that you wish to siloutte. If you print off the picture , the cut it out to use as a stencil. Trace it (or draw) onto cardstock. Your can use either black cardstock or color white cardstock with a black sharpie, or pastels. Then, just glue down the design onto your color blocks and frame! I used birds on branches since they are very easy silouettes, but check google images for other good ones!

Well everyone here suggests "Computer art" but we can't gravitate around computers all the time, well I'm sure we can but let's set that sweaty mouse down for a while hmm? Try making a col age (How do you spell that?). Take bits of magazine or newspaper or whatever the hell you want, yes......even print things out sigh. Be creative and yea, use the search pal, it will help you well.

borrow an overhead projector, get some cool graphics from the web and print it on acetate. Project it on the wall and then paint it on the wall. Alternatively use a PC and projector.

if you take foam core (poster board but thicker) you can cut it up into different sizes of squares and rectangels and then cover them in different faberics with double stick tape and hang those up in a fun layout

Search for some sort of high resolution 'map' of the universe. National Geographic has the one I have. I would send it but it's pretty huge. I'm sure it will catch your eye everyday if you are as nerdy as most 'instructiblers'.
