If your friend has another computer in the house that he can access, then you can get the IP address by going to command prompt, and typing in ipconfig Run<<cmd<<"ipconfig"

Get a packet sniffer, (Easier, get a "Security" Linux distro. i.e. Back Track, Pro+Ech. they have all the tools you need so you just need a computer set up "sniffing" (I think that's what it is) the packets until it can crack the key.

and if you don't know how to use the tools just look for online docs. and wikipedia should help you to get things done.

p.s. These Linux distro.'s are not fancy 3d GUI instead the programs are used via Terminal/Console (very easy)
-remember this is totally Legal when you have the owners permission. ;)

Pro+ech> http://www.techm4sters.org/
BackTrack> http://www.remote-exploit.org/backtrack.html

-I'm sure there's an easier way. but this is probably the most fun.
