I have used Chinese knockoff tools, primarily from Harbor Freight Tools, for years. Unless you're a pro, they work fine and last. Many come with extra motor brushes too. Seriously consider them.

My dremel came from walmart, and cost about $20 last year. I am pretty sure it is the "pumpkin carving" equivalent, but not orange. It came with more than one bit though, and all the other bits fit into it, so I can use them all. For $20 it was a great buy, serves me well.

My Dremel is orange from the Halloween pumpkin carving kit, it is normally 15 or 20 dollars, I waited till after Halloween and got it for 5 dollars, it is Dremel brand, but you can only use it for 20 minutes at a time or you could burn the motor up. It only came with one bit, but bits are not really that expensive. It runs on 4 AA batteries and is powerful enough for me. I like to etch glass with it, and other random things.

That's pretty cheap. You know that "good" and "cheap" don't usually go together?
Yes probably - have a look in a well-stocked yet cheap hardware store.

You may be able to find a used or refurb in that price range but not a new one. You can buy a Chinese knock-off at Harbor Freight or most discount tool stores for around $20, but you get what you pay for.

The basic model is about 40 dollars, and it comes with very little bits, so you would have to buy them yourself.

You won't get an actual dremel for that money, but you can definitely get a non-Dremel rotary tool.
