you are a genius! this is an amazing machanism. I finally undersand! However there will be an issue with friction, but this can be overcome with elastic bands pulling the bullets into place instead of them 'falling'

yeah i just thought off that too...also it would help the bullet and the rubber bands stay on the same level because well the rubber bands grip everything together so that they move at the same time there is still a small chance that something falls first and the rubber band pops off and jams the gun. I thought this was a fairly simple concept and i was going to enter it in the contest killerk was going to start but i never got around to it...also it would be a pain to reload

Well I suppose you could make it into a removable magazine then it might be easier to reload.

yeah but would would have to do that as in the way it's set up wouldn't allow it otherwise. it would still be hard to make it easy enough to reload...the best i could do would probably be like a 20 second reload at the fastest (i'm also trying to come up with a gun and magezine that loads really fast as in you can pop it on and off very easily and it will be fixed to autoload without usng gravity as these often jam)

I tried your original design and it dosent work, the rod that holds the ammo bends because it is only being held in one place, but nice idea.

oh i forgot to mention that all the rods are supposed to be connected at the top. (or bottom if you decided to do it that way) this should keep its sturdy enough.

hmm I doubt your doing it the way I tested then. Well for now I'm working on a sniper rifle but maybe after I'm done I'll finally get to work on my idea.

I've got an idea - make something that doesn't pretend to be a weapon!

Ok here is a video of my Knex MP44 so I'm wondering if anyone wants me to post it. Athough I can't post it with the stock design i have from ShotPain. So you either would have to come up with your own stock or help me convince ShotPain to let me use it in and instructable. Other wise its the first (I believe it is anyways I'm not quite sure) Chainless, motorless automatic gun that has a single shot option that is easier then being light on the trigger.

hey im wondering if someone would be able to make a gun with this sort of fireing style. stay with me as this will be a long an complicated message. i had an idea on making an automatic gun that only requires a rubberband for each piece of ammo and isnt a gattling gun. It has three long rods sticking up vertically in a skinny v shape. a long rod connected to a dark grey connector is that ammo. the grey connector goes on the back middle rod and a rubber band to goes around the back of the grey connector and onto spacers on the other two rods. these should drop down together. in the chamber where the round is fired the pieces holding the rubber bands keep going but the rod that holds that ammo stops in the chamber but there is another pieces that is there when the trigger isnt pulled but drops down when the trigger is pulled. get the picture now? that way when you hold the trigger the ammo keeps droping and launching right away. I'm not sure how reliable it is but can prove to be a very good method if it works...anyone that tries this can they please credit me?

I think I've seen this sort of style on a video somewhere errrm err you could use a chain with a weight on one end to pull the ammo through the chamber,or something, you'll have try stuff then post pics because your description is too vague

i know its hard to explain and thats why i hope to make a quick example and get some pictures. the easiest way i can describe it is. there is a rod for holding ammo and a two rods the rubber bands go on. they drop into the chamber you pull the trigger and the rod holding the ammo is let go and the rubber bands on the other two rods pull and fling it
